NEWS & CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT

The SPICE User Group is pleased to announce the ninth International SPICE Conference, to be held in Turku, Finland from 2nd to 4th June 2009. This Conference follows on from the success of previous SPICE conferences and workshops held on a regular basis since 1994. The conference is hosted on behalf of The SPICE User Group by Åbo Akademi University and the Finnish Software Measurement Association FISMA.

The latest developments in SPICE will have a significant impact for your business especially those operating in the regulated industries such as Automotive, Medical Devices and Financial Services. All these initiatives have a major presence at the conference.

This year's SPICE conference has three keynotes, 28 presentations in three parallel tracks, twelve industry and technical sessions with presenters from 15 countries and four continents - SPICE 2009 this year is the largest ever!

The keynote speakers are Dr. Michael Konrad (SEI), Professor Pekka Abrahamsson (University of Helsinki) and Vice President Riku Granat (Nokia). Michael Konrad will talk about "Moving Forward with CMMI, Agility and High Maturity ", Pekka Abrahamsson about "Process improvement is stronger than ever! " and Riku Granat about "Global Software Development: Experiences and Challenges '". There are also invited speakers from our sponsors that include the VDA-QMC, Inspecta, FiSMA and others.

ISO/IEC 15504 will commence its revision during 2009 which will shape the future of process assessment and improvement for many years to come.

The SPICE 2009 conference will be the platform for major new announcements regarding the ISO/IEC 15504 standard, safety extensions, and approaches for conformity assessment, as well SPICE initiatives such as Enterprise SPICE and the SPICE Academy. By attending the conference event you will be informed of all the latest developments.
